Arthur Ransome Peter Duck is for sale. Peter Duck is the third book in the Swallows and Amazons series of books. This is the first edition and eighth impression of Arthur Ransome’s Peter Duck book that was published by Jonathan Cape in 1937.

The Arthur Ransome Peter Duck dust jacket has the collage of illustrations to the front and to the spine, and the back panel has an advertisement for other books in Arthur Ransome’s Swallows and Amazons series of books, namely Swallows and Amazons, Swallowdale, Winter Holiday, Coot Club and Pigeon Post.


The dust jacket is in Good condition being complete but with very minor losses to the corners and edges and with a closed tear to the seam where the back flap joins the back panel.  Otherwise this is an attractive dust jacket with the price still present to the front flap.
The Arthur Ransome Peter Duck binding consists of a green cloth with the title in gilt to the front board and lettering to the spine also in gilt.


The Arthur Ransome Peter Duck binding is in Near Fine condition with only slight knocks to the top and bottom of the spine.


Arthur Ransome Peter Duck has 431 numbered pages, double page colour illustrations to the front endpapers and rear endpapers depicting the Chart of the Atlantic Ocean, an illustrated Title Page and 20 black and white illustrations throughout this collectable children’s illustrated book.


There is a name to the Half Title page otherwise the pages are clean with slight foxing to the edges, but are in overall Very Good + condition.
