This edition has a print run of just 1,200 books as stated in the books’ limitation page that states: “1200 Copies of this Edition have been prepared by Methuen & Co. for presentation by Mr. George Alexander as a souvenir of the Twentieth Year of his Management of the St. James’s Theatre.”
The original green binding has gilt lettering to the front board, with a circular decoration in gilt and surrounded by a three ruled border, and with gilt lettering to the spine with a three ruled border to the top and bottom of the spine. The binding is in Near Fine condition being exceptionally attractive with the slightest possible corner knocks and knocks to the top and bottom of the spine. An incredibly attractive binding for this scarce and limited edition book.
There are 181 numbered pages, top edge gilt, with the other edges untrimmed as called for, and they are in overall Very Good condition with age toning mainly confined to the edges and noticeable when the book is closed.
