Rev W. Awdry Enterprising Engines Thomas the Tank book is for sale. Enterprising Engines is Number 23 in the Thomas the Tank Railway series.  This is the 1968 first edition with the rare dust jacket. This is a very collectable Thomas the Tank first edition book illustrated by Gunvor and Peter Edwards.


The dust jacket has a pictorial image to the front of the Fat Controller and an advertisement to the back for the Ant and Bee books by Angela Banner. To the inside flaps are a list of 23 titles in the Thomas the Tank series; and to the back flap is an advertisement for Thomas the Tank merchandising material such as a map, press-out model books and records.


The dust jacket is in Very Good + condition being complete with wear and small creasing to the edges and corners; and dried gum that once covered the price to the front flap.  A lovely and attractive example


The original blue binding has the title in yellow to the front board, above which is an illustration of a steam train also in yellow. The binding is in Fine condition.


There are 56 numbered pages, with numerous illustrations throughout, which are in overall Very Good + condition with a name in small blue ink to the blank front free endpaper; otherwise extremely clean and attractive condition.
